About Us

Our Heritage
The Ehsaniyyah spiritual chain traces back to Hazrat Khwaja Habibullah Shah (q.s.), a saint known for his synthesis of major Sufi traditions and embodiment of Divine intimacy (ma’rifah). Our lineage continues through Khwaja Kalimullah Shah and Khwaja Anwaarullah Shah, whose teachings form the heart of our khanqah.

Our Mission
Khanqah Ehsaniyyah is dedicated to cultivating hearts anchored in Divine love, compassion, and sincerity. Through the balanced path of Shariah and Tariqah, we offer guidance for spiritual refinement in daily life.

Our Guide

Khwaja Ehsanullah Shah

Shaykh Khwaja Ehsanullah Shah is a Sufi guide with over 20 years of experience in Islamic education and spiritual mentorship. He was first initiated by his grandfather, Khwaja Kalimullah Shah (q.s.), and later received full spiritual succession (Khilafat) in 2019 from his Murshid, Khwaja Anwaarullah Shah (hafizahullah).

He holds spiritual authority in 45 Sufi lineages and is a qualified Murshid guiding seekers on the path of remembrance (dhikr), self-purification, and Divine love. Academically, he holds a postgraduate diploma in Islamic Studies (IIUM, Malaysia) and a Master's in Arts and Religious Leadership (Starr King, USA).

Shaykh Ehsanullah has studied and travelled across Turkey, Indonesia, Egypt, Syria, Malaysia, and the U.S., learning from scholars and Sufi masters. He is the founder of Khanqah Ehsaniyyah, Being Centre, and Muhammad: Healer of Hearts—initiatives dedicated to community healing, prophetic love, and spiritual education.

His work continues to guide hearts with clarity, compassion, and deep-rooted tradition in today’s modern world.

Tariqah Chisti Qadiri

Rooted in Tradition. Guided by Divine Love.

The Silsilah Ehsaniyyah was founded by Shaykh Khwaja Ehsanullah Shah, drawing spiritual inspiration and authority from Qibla Alam Khwaja Habeebullah Shah (qaddasallahu sirrah)—a towering Sufi master of the 20th century.

This lineage continues through Khwaja Anwaarullah Shah and Khwaja Wajhullah Shah, successors of Khwaja Habeebullah Shah (q.s.), and is anchored in a living tradition that brings together five of the greatest Sufi orders in Islam:
Chishti, Qadiri, Naqshbandi, Suhrawardi, and Sanusi.

Our path remains deeply grounded in the Shariah (Islamic law), the Sunnah of the Beloved Prophet ﷺ, and the inherited methods of Zikrullah (Divine Remembrance) preserved and passed down through the great Imams of Tasawwuf.

The Aim of the Tariqa

The mission of the Silsilah Ehsaniyyah is to spread the Sufi teachings of Divine Love (Hubb)—to bring hearts closer to Allah ﷻ, and to inspire harmony, peace, and spiritual excellence (Ihsan) in both personal and communal life.

The noble aims of this path are:

  • To attain spiritual development through inner purification

  • To efface the ego (nafs) and overcome base desires

  • To dwell in constant remembrance and intimate awareness of the Divine

Qibla Alam Khwaja Habeebullah Shah (q.s.)

Khwaja of 45 Lineages • Master of 40 Tariqahs

Hazrath Al-Hajj Khwaja Habeebullah Shah Chistiul Qadiri Naqshbandi Suhrawardi Sanusi (q.s.) was born in India to Abdul Hameed and Ahmed Begum. A master of over 43 Tariqahs, he guided more than 100,000 spiritual aspirants across the world, including renowned scholars and seekers from all walks of life. His work brought renewed prominence to the Chishti-Qadiri order and harmonized multiple Sufi traditions into a singular path of Divine nearness.

Endowed with profound scholarship, he mastered the Islamic sciences—including Qur’an, Hadith, Fiqh, and Tasawwuf—and was fluent in Persian, Urdu, Tamil, and English.

Spiritual Formation and Inheritance

He began his spiritual journey at the age of 14 under Khwaja Arifullah Shah Chisti Qadiri (q.s.), from whom he received initiation. His advanced training continued under Quthub-e-Tamkeen Khwaja Khair Muhammad Sahib Siddiqi Meerathi (q.s.), through whom he received authorization (Khilafat) in 40 distinct Tariqahs.

During Hajj in 1959, he met Hazrath Syed Murtaza Sani Ashadullah Shah Asrabhi Muhajiri Mathani (q.s.), the Grand Shaykh of the Sanusi order. A mutual exchange of bai'ah (spiritual allegiance) occurred between them, making Khwaja Habeebullah Shah (q.s.) a Khalifa of the Sanusi Tariqah, and affirming his authority across all 45 lineages.

The Knowledge of

Divine Nearness

In his writings, particularly The Spiritual Message of Islam, Qibla Alam Khwaja Habeebullah Shah (q.s.) emphasized that:

“Spiritual development is based on complete self-negation. By this, one attains close communion with God and becomes absorbed in the Divine.”

He taught that the goal of a Murshid (guide) is to help the seeker (Salik) detach from the ego, transcend worldly knowledge, and enter into the gnosis of God (Ma’rifah).

This knowledge is what he termed the “Knowledge of Nearness of God”—the sacred awareness embodied in the phrase:

La ilaha illallah (There is no god but Allah).

It is this inner truth that frees us from duality, and raises the soul toward light, clarity, and eternal peace.

A Qur’anic Promise

فَرَوْحٌۭ وَرَيْحَانٌۭ وَجَنَّتُ نَعِيمٍۢ
“Then for him is rest, and bounty, and a garden of bliss.”
— Surah Al-Waqi'ah (56:89)
